OUR STORY

Hi there, hope you’re liking the site! My name is Savannah McLain, my business partner (& mother), is Gail McLain. We are a family run business out of Oro Valley and Scottsdale, AZ. It’s so important to us that you enjoy your experience using our products, so please give us any feedback you have at questions@heimatauto.com.

We are asked all the time how we came up with our name, so here is goes...

My grandparents, Ruth Muth and Max Grenard, raised four admirable children on a farm in La Junta, CO. On that farm, my mom was raised to work hard, picking watermelon and cantaloupes by day and cleaning bricks to build their family home by night. My grandma’s family were Germans from Russia, coming to America when my great-grandfather was only 5 years old. Not only was she extremely proud of her heritage, she was a patriot (beyond understanding) of The United States of America. She was born on the 4th of July and made it a point to wear the American flag, no matter what the occasion.

This country has given four generations of our family the freedom and opportunity so many around the world pray for. 

The teachings my grandma engraved into us have stuck with me. She has taught me to work hard, to be proud of this country, and to always put my family first.

Grandma left us to be with the Lord in 2018. When she passed, our family was going through lots of change and I wanted a change in career path. I wanted to create something that would honor her, no matter what field I decided to go into. 

HEIMAT.

The meaning behind this word, the feeling of home, makes me think of her on a daily basis. She was so proud of her many “homes”. Whether that be a country, a person, or a feeling. And it always felt like home when we were with her. 

For me, smell has always made me feel like home. Each person has a different scent that they think of when they think of home.

Living in Los Angeles and spending so much time in my car, I wanted to make it feel like home.

So here we are...
